Music Mondays

Today was an incredibly cloudy, rainy, and hazy day. I love a good rainy day, but this one made me exceptionally sleepy. Sadly, the rain brought with it much cooler temps. Guess winter hasn't given up just yet. In honor of the weather, I thought I'd share my rainy day playlist with you all. Rainy days put me in a mellow mood. I hope you enjoy!

Sunday Afternoons

Ahhhhh such a wonderful day. My grandpa is in town for the week! So today after church we all went out to lunch together at Red Lobster. It was my first time eating there. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp, which makes me the odd one out in my family but oh well. I did enjoy a delicious maple-glazed salmon with a side of fresh broccoli, and a small salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Mmmmmm tasty. Today was cloudy and bit chilly, so I threw on jeans and my favorite sweatshirt, made myself a cup of hot cocoa, grabbed a handful of candy corn, and curled up on my bed to finish writing a paper for class. To top it all off, my homework "soundtrack" was my Parachute station on Pandora. Definitely a favorite. And, to make a great day even better, my mom whipped up a batch of homemade chex mix with my little sister and I. Yum! So while finishing up my paper, I came across some fun things on the web that I would absolutely love to have ^_^

Fall Time

I need someone to tell me to go to bed......otherwise I'm up all hours of the night doing the most randomest things. Honestly, there's just too much to do! Not to mention I'm such a night owl. Late night is when I feel most productive, yet at the same time I just want to sleep. Hmmmmmm, this could be problematic. On a more cheerful tone, I do believe that fall has begun to arrive! The rest of the week is looking like it'll be in the low 70s. I just love fall weather. The air is always so cool, crisp, and clean. I'm looking forward to sweaters, bonfires, cider, clear starry nights, crunching leaves, and the smell of apple peels. Can't you just taste it?? Also, I've fallen head over heels in love with the band Parachute. I've always liked them, but over Labor Day weekend I "rediscovered" them. I've bought like every single one of their songs, and it's my absolutely favorite playlist.  As fall comes closer and closer, I've really been wanting some brown boots....Aren't these just great??

Summer Nights

Finals are done, the books are put away, daylight lasts longer, and the weather is finally staying warm. Summer is officially here. I absolutely love summer. Yes, the heat can be a bummer sometime but all the other good stuff about summer definitely outweighs that slightly disappointing aspect. I've already been to several open houses so far, and there's plenty more to come! Some of my favorite things about summer are really the more simplistic stuff though. Things like: watermelon, corn on the cob, sand volleyball, swimming, melting ice cream, sprinklers and trampolines, sleeping in, stargazing, late nights out, driving with the windows down and music blasting, the smell of freshly mowed grass, sizzling homemade hamburgers, wading in the creek, endless photos, being outside the whole day, sleeping with the windows open, spending the day at the lake, chasing fireflies, listening to the crickets, spending the days with friends, playing piano for hours upon hours, reading countless books, smoothies, a new swimsuit, picnics, and of course many, many more memories. Of course there will be the working in between, but for the most part my summer is wide open. I love this time of year. The windows are open, there's a gentle breeze blowing, the stars are out, the moon is bright, Kiss Me Slowly by Parachute is playing, and I don't want to go to sleep. I look forward to many more of these nights!
